Healing power of Nature

My walk today inspired this post, when I discovered this stunning tree that I’d never seen before. For me, it truly encapsulated the essence of the season, being surrounded by a circle of vibrant daffodils celebrating the tree - cheering on its soon returning leaves! Spring is so wonderful, almost magical, filled with the promise of new beginnings and end of the gloom that we’ve been used to, don’t you think?

I’m a huge tree geek, I love it when a new tree catches my eye and love their interconnectedness - the way they support each other, much like we as humans support one another. The healing power of nature, particularly in spring, is truly remarkable. The fresh air, emerging sunshine, and phytoncides released by trees, which can also have a positive impact on our mental health too, by reducing anxiety and improving our overall well-being. I can’t wait to visit this one again soon, to see it in full bloom!

Daily walks in nature provide a vital part of my routine and I would highly recommend it. Why not try lifting your mood by taking a few moments to fully immerse yourself in nature this spring. Start by choosing a peaceful woodland area or nature reserve, and just take the time to lose yourself, be mindful and fully engage your senses.

Here’s how I do it; I start by admiring the wisdom and power of the trees, closing my eyes to be truly present – smiling inwardly at the bird chatter on the wind, then taking a deep breath to inhale that awesome freshness of spring (that even stays with you on your clothes), lastly, not forgetting to ground myself by connecting through touch, placing my hands on their bark. Much like our fingerprints each tree bark is different. Trust me (in my opinion) this experience is very humbling.

And if you enjoy it, perhaps try finding a spot to share with your loved ones. My family all have our own individual favourite places in nature, to be able to relax and unwind after the stressors that life can bring.

This seemingly small act of connecting with nature sets me up for a positive day of seeing good in all things, and to be the best version of me for all my clients. Life is a series of challenges, and it's easy to get caught up in negative thoughts. By embracing the awe of nature and finding moments of stillness, we can create the space we need, to navigate challenges with calmness and clarity.

I encourage you to immerse yourself in nature this spring, and please do share your experience with me. It's simple yet powerful and can have a profound impact on your overall wellness.
